Quick answer

What do rhinoplasty results in Korea look like?

At ONYX, a first-time rhinoplasty usually combines a structural graft from the patient’s own cartilage (rib or septum) with a silicone implant for the bridge. The aim is a straighter, more defined line that still suits the face: a refined tip, a supported columella and a bridge that is not over-raised. The cases below show this at one month after surgery, when most bruising has gone but some swelling remains. The final shape usually settles over 6 to 12 months.

Rhinoplasty before and after in Korea: front, oblique and profile views of a bulbous, long nose corrected with donor rib cartilage, silicone implant and septoplasty, 1 month after surgery

Case 01

Bulbous and long nose correction with septoplasty

  • Rib cartilage
  • Silicone implant
  • Bulbous tip
  • Long nose
  • Septoplasty
Procedure
Donor rib cartilage + silicone rhinoplasty, septoplasty
Concern
Wide, bulbous tip and a long nose with a deviated septum
Photo taken
1 month after surgery
Views
Front, oblique and profile

The tip has been narrowed and lifted slightly, which shortens how long the nose looks from the side. Septoplasty straightened the central support, which also helps breathing.

Rhinoplasty and eyelid surgery before and after in Korea: hump and bulbous tip corrected with autologous rib cartilage and silicone, plus ptosis correction and canthoplasty, 1 month after surgery

Case 02

Bulbous tip and hump correction with eyelid surgery

  • Autologous rib
  • Silicone implant
  • Hump removal
  • Bulbous tip
  • Eyelid surgery
Procedure
Autologous rib + silicone implant rhinoplasty; eyelid surgery with ptosis correction and canthoplasty
Concern
Bulbous tip, dorsal hump and heavy, tired-looking eyes
Photo taken
1 month after surgery
Views
Front, oblique and profile

The hump was smoothed and the tip defined, giving a straight profile. Done in the same session, the eyelid surgery opened the eyes, so nose and eyes look balanced together.

Rhinoplasty before and after in Korea: low bridge and retracted columella corrected with autologous rib cartilage and silicone implant, front, oblique and side views, 1 month after surgery

Case 03

Columella correction with a structural rib graft

  • Autologous rib
  • Silicone implant
  • Columella correction
  • Tip projection
Procedure
Autologous rib + silicone rhinoplasty with columella correction
Concern
Low bridge, under-projected tip and a retracted columella
Photo taken
1 month after surgery
Views
Front, oblique and profile

Rib cartilage strengthens the columella and supports the tip, so the angle between nose and lip looks more natural from the side. The bridge was raised just enough to match the face.

Forehead fat grafting before and after in Korea, done with rhinoplasty: front, oblique and profile views of a fuller, rounder forehead 1 month after surgery

Case 04

Same patient: forehead fat grafting

  • Fat grafting
  • Forehead
  • Combined procedure
Procedure
Forehead fat grafting, done with the rhinoplasty in Case 03
Concern
Flat forehead that made the nose-to-forehead line look disconnected
Photo taken
1 month after surgery
Views
Front, oblique and profile

A fuller forehead creates a smoother line from forehead to nasal bridge, which is one reason the rhinoplasty in Case 03 looks natural in profile.

How to read these photos

  • Same three views. Every case shows the front, oblique (three-quarter) and profile views, so you can judge the bridge, tip and columella from each angle.
  • Timing is labelled. Each “after” photo states how long after surgery it was taken. At one to two months the nose is still settling, so the final shape is usually more refined.
  • Privacy protected. Only the eyes are blurred, so you can see the whole nose clearly.
  • Your result will differ. Skin thickness, cartilage strength and previous surgery all change what is possible for you.

What a good rhinoplasty result should show

  • A bridge height that suits your face, not the highest possible line.
  • A tip that is defined but not pinched, with a smooth outline in the oblique view.
  • A columella that shows slightly below the nostril rims from the side.
  • A straight central line from the front, with even nostrils.
  • Breathing that is the same or better than before surgery.

How results change after rhinoplasty

Time after surgery What you usually see
Day 1–7 Splint on; swelling and bruising around the nose and eyes.
Week 1 Splint and stitches removed; most people return to light activity.
Month 1 Bruising has gone; the shape is visible but the tip is still swollen (the stage shown on this page).
Month 3–6 The nose looks natural to other people; the tip keeps refining.
Month 6–12 Swelling settles fully, especially in thicker skin; this is the final result.

Typical timeline only. Healing varies with skin thickness, the grafts used and whether the nose has had surgery before.

Rhinoplasty before and after: common questions

Are these rhinoplasty before and after photos real?

Yes. Every photo is of a real ONYX patient in Gangnam, Seoul, shown from the same three angles before and after surgery. Only the eyes are blurred for privacy.

When are rhinoplasty results final?

Most swelling settles within 3 months, but the tip and thick skin can keep refining for 6 to 12 months. The photos on this page were taken 1 month after surgery, so the final results are usually slightly more refined.

Why use rib cartilage and silicone together?

Rib cartilage is strong, so it is used to support the tip and columella, which keeps the shape stable over time. A silicone implant gives a smooth, predictable bridge. Combining them lets each material do what it is best at.

Can I combine rhinoplasty with eyelid surgery or fat grafting?

Yes, as Cases 02 and 04 show. Combining procedures means one anaesthetic and one recovery period, but it can add to surgery time and swelling. Dr. Yoo decides at consultation whether combining is safe for you.

How long should I stay in Seoul for rhinoplasty?

Plan to stay about 7 to 10 days. That covers the consultation, surgery, and splint and stitch removal around day 7 before you fly home.

Will my result look like these photos?

Not exactly. Your result depends on your skin thickness, cartilage, facial proportions and goals. Send photos on WhatsApp for a preliminary assessment, and Dr. Yoo will tell you honestly what is realistic for your nose.

Want to know what is possible for your nose?

Send a front, oblique and side photo on WhatsApp. Dr. Yoo reviews them and replies with a preliminary assessment before you book a flight.
