Contracted Nose Correction in Gangnam, Seoul
released, lengthened, rebuilt.
A contracted nose looks short, tight and upturned because scar tissue has pulled it up, usually after implant complications or infection. At ONYX in Gangnam, Seoul, Dr. Yoo releases the scar and rebuilds length and support with rib cartilage.

What is a contracted nose?
A contracted nose is a nose that has shortened and tightened because of scar contracture, most often around a silicone implant after inflammation or infection. The tip rotates upward, the nostrils show more and the skin feels tight.
Correction removes the implant and capsule if present, releases the scar, then lengthens the nose with a strong septal extension built from rib cartilage, which resists the pull of the scar.

Contracted nose recovery
Typical timeline only. Healing varies with the procedure, skin thickness and materials used.
- Day 1–3 Swelling and discomfort, controlled with medication; the chest site is sore if rib cartilage was used.
- Day 7 Splint and stitches removed and the wound checked.
- Week 2–4 Bruising fades; swelling is still clearly present.
- Month 3–6 Scar tissue softens and the new shape becomes clearer.
- Month 12 The final result of revision surgery settles.
Contracted Nose in Seoul: your questions answered.
Why is rib cartilage needed?
Scar exerts strong pull, and only firm, plentiful cartilage like rib reliably holds the new length.
Can the nose be made as long as before?
Often much of the length is restored, but tight skin limits how far it can stretch.
Is more than one operation needed?
Some severe cases need staged surgery; Dr. Yoo will explain this at consultation.
Will the scar come back?
Scar can recur, so strong support and careful aftercare are important.
How long should I stay?
Plan for about 7–10 days, sometimes longer.
