Bridge concern
Wide Nose Bridge Correction in Gangnam, Seoul
a slimmer line from the front.
A wide nose bridge makes the upper and middle nose look broad from the front, even when the profile looks fine. At ONYX in Gangnam, Seoul, Dr. Yoo narrows the bony and cartilage bridge and, where needed, adds a slim line of height for a refined front view.

What is a wide nose bridge?
A wide nose bridge is broad along the bony upper nose, the cartilage middle section, or both. Wide nasal bones, a low but broad dorsum and previous injury are common causes.
Correction narrows the nasal bones with controlled osteotomy and refines the cartilage vault, sometimes combined with a slim augmentation so the bridge reads as a narrow, defined line.
| Surgery time | About 2–3 hours |
|---|---|
| Anaesthesia | General anaesthesia |
| Approach | Closed or open, with controlled osteotomy |
| Splint & stitches | Removed after about 7 days |
| Stay in Seoul | About 7–10 days |
| Final result | 6–12 months |
Signs you may relate to
- Your nose looks wide between the eyes
- The bridge looks broad in front-facing photos
- Your nose looks wider when you smile
- Contour makeup is needed to slim the bridge
- A previous injury widened the nose
A low, wide bridge often looks narrower once it is given a little height, so both are considered together.

How a wide bridge is narrowed
- STEP 01
Measure
Bone and cartilage width are measured on 3D CT.
- STEP 02
Osteotomy
Nasal bones are moved inward in a controlled way.
- STEP 03
Refine the middle vault
Cartilage is adjusted so the line is smooth from top to bottom.
- STEP 04
Add definition
A slim augmentation can sharpen the bridge line if needed.

Wide Nose Bridge in Seoul: your questions answered.
Is the nose broken to narrow the bridge?
The nasal bones are carefully cut and moved inward under anaesthesia. This is called osteotomy.
Will there be bruising?
Bruising around the eyes is common for one to two weeks after osteotomy.
Can a wide bridge be narrowed without surgery?
Not truly. Filler can add height but does not reduce width.
Will breathing be affected?
Narrowing is planned to keep the airway open; spreader grafts may be used to protect it.
Is a wide bridge the same as wide nasal bones?
Wide nasal bones are one cause. The cartilage middle section can also be wide.
